2014 Honda Civic

Not only does the 2014 Honda Civic offer a sporty good-looking exterior, but the car also delivers an excellent ride and superior handling; making it drive like a more expensive car. Freshening up for 2014, the Civic has taken on some new styling features such as its open mouth grille that nicely ties in with the headlamps. Moving to the inside of the vehicle, the interior has taken on many enhancements and offers new technologically advanced features. One such feature is a camera in the side mirror for blind spot monitoring! In addition to that, the touchscreen offered is a nice 18 cm size and fairly easy to use. Another highlight of the Honda Civic is the option of either a coupe or sedan body style; while the Toyota Corolla is only available as a sedan. Also, the fuel economy numbers are impressive, but that is true for the 2014 Toyota Corolla as well. You must realize that there are very few rivals on the market that can compete with the Civic’s proven record of dependability and reliability, but the Toyota Corolla is one of the few that can contend with.

And The Winner Is…

While the Toyota Corolla definitely puts up a good fight, especially with the all-new design for 2014, we are calling the 2014 Honda Civic the winner of this head-to-head competition. In addition to the more sophisticated styling for 2014, the Civic also offers many new and state-of-the-art technology features as well. Moving on to horsepower and engine size, these competitors are virtually neck-to-neck. For this reason, it will probably come as no surprise that fuel economy figures are also practically equal. Furthermore, for those that love making the most of the driving experience while achieving the highest possible fuel economy, a manual transmission is the way to go. While both vehicles offer the manual option, it is important to note that the Corolla features a 6-speed transmission while the Civic is still a 5-speed. To sum it up as to why we chose the Civic as the winner; our choice was mostly due to personal preference. Both of these vehicles are extremely dependable and very high in quality.

2014 Toyota Corolla

The all-new design for the 2014 Toyota Corolla is very sophisticated and looks a lot like a miniature Avalon. The star of the Corolla line-up for 2014 is the Eco model, which produces the most horsepower while also delivering the best fuel economy. Driving down the road, the Corolla offers a quiet and compliant ride and the car is incredibly easy to maneuver. On the inside of the vehicle, the upper trim levels offer a nice large-sized touchscreen display and Bluetooth comes standard on all models. In addition, the interior is spacious throughout, even the backseat of the 2014 Corolla offers plenty of room. The feeling inside is very refined and many of the materials used are of high quality; however, there are still some hard plastics in places, such as on the door panel where you might rest your arm. Similarly to the Honda Civic, the Toyota Corolla has earned a strong reputation in the public for being a quality-made, dependable and reliable vehicle.
